Giving back to those who have served.
Pension Fund began in 1895 as the Board of Ministerial Relief, charged with the task of raising funds for clergy in need.
Even though the organization has changed, compassion shown to those in need has not. Ministerial Relief and Assistance is the Church's way to give back to ministers, their spouses and lay employees through donations. This fund was established to care for those who have fallen into troubled times and need a helping hand from their church community. It's never too early to start saving for retirement.
Most young people think they have time to start saving for retirement and delay putting money away into their retirement savings. With our Student Gift Program, Pension Fund is committed to helping students get an early start so they can take advantage of one of the greatest tools in retirement savings — time.
"There’s no stage of life where we have the 'right' amount of money to start planning for retirement. But it’s coming, and quicker than we think. This is a great way for all seminary students to start planning now."
Rev. Will Pannell, Mechanicsville Church of Christ
For some, saving for retirement wasn't an option.
Every year, through our Ministerial Relief & Assistance programs, Pension Fund cares for hundreds of clergy and their families by helping with basic necessities for our missionaries, clergy and their families. It also provides dignity for those who have sacrificed so much for the ministry. Learn more about our programs, and how you or someone you know can apply.
