Meet the Your Money Line Financial Guides: Alicia Lawrence

My name is Alicia Lawrence, and I am a Financial Guide at Your Money Line. I am an Accredited Financial Counselor® and have a Bachelor’s in Human Services. In my previous role, I was fortunate enough to serve the military community by providing one-on-one financial counseling and classes on managing finances while growing a family. I had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, helping them understand the benefits of debt repayment and savings.
Growing up on a small dairy farm in Oregon, and later joining the Marine Corps, I never received formal education on managing money, which I know is true for many of us. My approach combines insights from formal education with hands-on experience. For example, my husband and I successfully eliminated nearly $95,000 in debt on a limited income within 4 years. Experiencing this firsthand and realizing the potential for financial stability inspired me to pursue formal financial education. While in college, I began volunteering with a non-profit organization, where I discovered many new resources and tools that can help others achieve debt freedom and financial stability. This experience led me to work towards my AFC® certification.
I understand that starting this journey can be overwhelming—knowing where to begin, prioritizing tasks, and acknowledging the need for change can be daunting. However, witnessing the reduction of debt and the positive impact it has on my clients' lives is incredibly rewarding, and I find value in being a support system and sounding board for clients. My personal motto is to “grow through what you go through,” and my goal is to make this growth as smooth and impactful as possible. Every challenge is an opportunity for learning and development. My method is rooted in practical solutions and customized advice, ensuring clients not only grasp their financial situation but also feel empowered to improve it.
My grandmother taught me the importance of serving others, emphasizing that it benefits both their soul and yours. Her dedication to giving back to the community was deeply inspiring and is something I strive to emulate every day. Being able to serve others by sharing my knowledge and experience is incredibly fulfilling. I am committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to achieve financial well-being and work tirelessly to make that a reality for each person I serve at Your Money Line.
