Important Information for Medicare Supplemental Plan Closeout

As previously announced, CCHCBT will no longer offer a Medicare Supplemental plan as of Dec. 31, 2022.

To assist participants with the transition and provide the highest level of service and support, Pension Fund has partnered with the leading private retiree medical marketplace in the country - Via Benefits. With over 15 years of experience working with 700+ companies and over 2 million retirees enrolled, Via Benefits provides expert, personalized support to help retirees understand and enroll in Medicare supplemental insurance options.

Via Benefits will be sending you information to help gather important information and schedule an appointment with a member of their Retiree Care Team to select and enroll in a new Medicare Supplemental Plan.

The communications from Via Benefits will be co-branded with the CCHCBT logo, so you can be certain that you have the information from the provider vetted by CCHCBT. When you contact Via Benefits, they will have access to your current plan benefits and be able to work with you to select a plan that includes your list of doctors and medications.

Beginning July 1, 2022, you can reach out to Via Benefits to establish your account and book an enrollment meeting for the fall (after Oct. 1, 2022) with one of their insurance specialists by calling 833.414.1405 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. EDT or visiting their website my.viabenefits.com/cchcbt. CCHCBT members do have a preferred enrollment window of Oct. 17-29, 2022. To continue with medical and prescription drug coverage, you must enroll in coverage through Via Benefits or choose your own Medicare Supplemental Plan with another service or provider.

On Sept. 27, the team from Via Benefits and I will co-host a conference call at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. EDT. This call will be similar to our annual member call and both calls will include the same information. You only need to participate once. To join the meeting, you will dial 833.719.6864 and an operator will place you into the call. The operator will ask for a PIN. For the 11 a.m. call use PIN 3381277. For the 7 p.m. call use PIN 4905779. After the presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions using the moderated call function. You are welcome to share this information with an adult child or other person who assists you in making financial decisions. This same person can attend your Medicare Supplemental Plan selection call with Via Benefits.

Action Needed – What You Need to Do

  • Read through the Welcome to Via Benefits Guide (coming soon from Via Benefits) to learn more about your options and the enrollment process
  • Go online at my.viabenefits.com/cchcbt to create your Via Benefits personal profile or call Via Benefits at 833-414-1405.
  • Call Via Benefits at 833-414-1405 to complete your pre-enrollment Medicare Assessment and to schedule your enrollment appointment.
  • Attend a webinar/virtual meeting on Sept. 27
  • Look for your enrollment materials coming from Via Benefits in early October
  • Complete your enrollment between Oct. 17 to Oct. 29

We also want to remind you that you will have a premium holiday in the last quarter of 2022. You will not be charged any premiums by CCHCBT starting in October 2022, even though your benefits continue through Dec. 31, 2022. If we have been deducting the payment from your pension, you will see an increase in your payment. If we have been billing you or pulling the funds via ACH from an account, we will not initiate the bill or ACH during the premium holiday.

All questions should be directed to our President, Rev. Dr. Todd Adams at president@pensionfund.org or 317.713.2414. While our Member Relations Team is always ready to answer your Pension Fund related questions, they are not able to answer questions regarding Medicare benefits and changes.
