Pension Fund Announces Two New Hires in Support of Strategic Initiatives
(Indianapolis, IN) – Pension Fund of the Christian Church is pleased to announce the addition of two new team members to our staff, Rev. Kyeong Jung (“KJ”) Kim and Fonda Latham, LCSW, ACSW.
Kim will join our Client Relations team as a part-time Area Director supporting the North American Pacific/Asian Disciples (NAPAD) community beginning on January 15. “As part of Pension Fund’s two-year market study, it was clear that we needed to add a native speaker to our staff, who is also fluent in English. Rev. Kim will help bridge a gap in our service to fullness of the movement,” shared Rev. Dr. Todd A. Adams, President and CEO.
Rev. Kim was born and raised in South Korea but moved to the US in 2016 in search of an answer to what it means to build a loving faith community in a fragmented world. He currently serves as the pastor of First Christian Church in Stephensville, TX.
“I am grateful and thrilled to accept a call to serve our sisters and brothers of the NAPAD community. I am looking forward to learning and growing as part of the team,” stated Kim.
Also joining us in January, Latham will take on a role with our Development and Program staff as the Ministerial Relief and Assistance Project Coordinator, focusing on our new Cornerstones program in support of clergy health and wellness. Latham has been passionate about the well-being of clergy and their families for over 40 years. She has a background as a clinical social worker and most recently has served as a Vice President with the Solihten Institute for the past seven years. Both as a mental health professional and a minister’s wife, she is well aware of the need for clergy care and support and is looking forward to the opportunity to help make a difference in that space.
Adams shared, “Fonda has given a considerable amount of time helping us with clergy wellness. When we decided we needed an additional team member to assist with expanding our work around mental health for clergy, Fonda was a natural fit.” Pension Fund will launch four new wellness initiatives at The Gathering, September 3-5, 2024 in Washington, D.C.
