Pension Fund January Communications and Other Important Dates

Holiday greetings to you and your family this Christmas. As we prepare to begin our 130th year of service, our team has been working hard to prepare for our year-end close procedures and you may receive several communications from our staff based on your accounts, account status, and life stage. As these items are mailed, we will update the front-end message with the current status when members call our Member Relations Team.

As we wrap up the year, our team has been working hard to prepare for our year-end close procedures and you may receive several communications from our staff based on your accounts, account status, and life stage. As these items are mailed, we will provide a status by updating the front-end message when calling our Member Relations Team.

The following documents, to be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2025, will be mailed in this order:

  • 1099-INTs for taxable interest
  • 1099-Rs for Pension and all withdrawals from Tax-Deferred Retirement Accounts and IRAs including Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
  • Fourth quarter statements (IRA account holders legal notice of Dec. 31, 2024 market value)
  • Annual gift receipts for donations to Ministerial Relief and Assistance
  • Notice of Required Minimum Distribution for members over the age of 73 who have a Pension Fund Traditional IRA and/or Tax-Deferred Retirement Account 403(b) (TDRA 403(b))
  • Puerto Rico Forms - 480.7C or 480.6A - to be postmarked by Feb. 28
  • Canadian T4A-RCA slip, mailed by Royal Trust of Canada no later than Feb. 28

We also wanted to share the 2025 Pension Plan and recurring TDRA distribution pay dates. Deposits will be made on the first day of the month, with the following exceptions:

  • Jan. 1 – paid on Jan. 2 (payment must be made in the tax year it is earned and Jan. 1 is a bank holiday)
  • Feb. 1 – paid on Jan. 31
  • Mar. 1 – paid on Feb. 28
  • Jun. 1 – paid on May 30
  • Sept. 1 – paid on Aug. 29
  • Nov. 1 – paid on Oct. 31

Other Important Dates:

  • April 15 – Last day to submit IRA contributions toward the 2024 tax year
  • April 23-26 – Spring board meeting where Special Apportionment Credits are considered for July 1
  • May 7 – Annual Member call at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. (EST)
  • May 31 – 5498s for IRA account holders – for informational purposes only
  • October 1 – Deadline to submit RMD application and QCD applications to satisfy an RMD
  • November 7 – RMD will be paid no later than this date for those who receive an annual distribution
  • November 14-15 – Fall board meeting where Good Experience Credits are considered for 2025
  • Dec. 23 at noon EST – Deadline to submit enrollment paperwork with funds. Enrollment and/or funds submitted after this date will be held and completed in the new year.

  • December 24 and 25 (Christmas)
