Meet the Your Money Line Financial Guides: Tyler West

My name is Tyler West. I am a Financial Guide for Your Money Line with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and a Master's in Public Administration. I am finishing a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning with a certificate in Charitable Giving and Estate Planning. I am an Army veteran with a broad professional background in college and financial counseling and a former small business owner.

I bring my diverse formal education, informal life experiences, and professional expertise into every interaction while assisting you with your personal finance needs. Growing up, I did not have a support system to find success with my own personal finances, and I hope to be that for others.

I am a first-generation college student from a family of Jewish migrants who fled to New York and worked hard in laundromats and on factory floors. I was encouraged to pursue education above all else and “work smart, not hard,” despite the limited resources available to make that happen. I took those early lessons to heart and made my way through college and my early career by leveraging my military service and education benefits. However, I lacked the financial literacy I needed, which led to missteps along the way. After years of learning opportunities, a commitment to improving my financial literacy, and discovering a passion for serving others, I found myself meeting the personal finance goals I had for myself. Today, I am happily married with five children and feel I have attained a little slice of the American dream.

The most important thing I can tell you is that you are doing a great job. If you are reading this, it means you are ready to learn and want to improve your financial situation. The hardest part of taking control of your financial situation is finding the desire to learn and improve.

Discussing money can be challenging and intimidating. We understand that. But our team of highly talented and trained experts is here to work alongside you, supported by our impressive suite of online tools, curriculum, and resources, to help you develop and achieve the goals that you set for yourself. Regardless of where you are on your journey, we will meet you there and help you take the next step.

If you need help getting started with your financial wellness, the financial guides at Your Money Line are always ready and willing to help. Get started by visiting our Your Money Line page.
